The Graduate Management Aptitude test (GMAT) is the admission test for applying in business schools. GMAC is the authority committee for conducting GMAT.

The test format includes Analytical writing Assessment, Quantitative section and Verbal section. GMAC assists your performance in every section separately and also for the total test. So you should give equal importance to every section. The test score includes score from every section which are combined and the overall test result is taken out. Those people who are taking computer based test can see their score after finishing their exam. |
| Eligibility For GMAT |
| Anyone can appear for GMAT exam with no restriction of age or qualification. The only required eligibility for GMAT is that a person should be a graduate. The marks which are scored in GMAT are valid for 5 years. Generally, most of the universities accept GMAT score up to five years. However, it is advisable to give the scores which are not more than 2 years later. |

The test is taken in subjects like maths, computers, biology, English, verbal and logical reasoning. Normally, GRE is taken as a computer- based exam but in some backward areas of world it is also taken on paper.
For admission into graduate schools the level of GRE scores varies from institutes to institutes. The emphasis of this score is from mere admission process up till the selection factor. |

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test for English. The test checks the English language communication skills of students who do not have English as their mother tongue. The test checks listening, speaking, writing and reading skills of students.
The test ensures that the student would be able to complete the studies in an English Medium college. The IELTS test is administered by two committee British Council, IDP Education Australia; and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. The score of the test is globally recognized. | Overview of TOEFL |
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a test for English proficiency. The Educational Testing Services (ETS) is the authority for designing and administrating the test within US and outside. The TOEFL test is taken up by people whose native language is not English.
The TOEFL test is taken to measure the applicant’s ability to read, write and speak English. The colleges and universities where official language for teaching is English, considers TOEFL as a boundary line to pick up students who will be able to cope up with the curriculum. |

| The computer-based TOEFL test has four sections: |
- Listening section : ( 30 - 50 quetions, Duration: 40 - 60 min ) Listening section measures the ability of the test taker to understand spoken English.
- Structure section : ( 20 - 25 questions, Duration: 15 - 20 min ) Structure section measures the ability of the test taker to recognize standard written English.
- Reading section : ( 44 - 60 questions, Duration: 70 - 90 min ) Reading section measures the ability of the test taker to understand short passages that are similar to the formats used in the academic texts.
- Writing section : ( 1 Essay, Duration: 30 min ) Writing section measures the ability of the test taker to write in English on the given topic.
- A good score in TOEFL plays a key role in admission as well as in obtaining financial aid in the form of teaching assistantships. The higher the score, the brighter are one’s chances with most U.S and Canadian universities. Maximizing the score thus becomes the key.
